Hello!
Well it’s episode 7 of Frontline tonight from 10pm! Here’s what’s coming up:
Mike tests out the armoured patrol vehicle, the LPV400, considered as a replacement for the most controversial and highly publicised combat vehicle on the front line: the Snatch Land Rover or Vixen.
Over the past 7 years, in Iraq and Afghanistan, more British troops have been killed in the Snatch than in any other vehicle.
Is the SPV400 the answer to one of the biggest problems facing the British mission?
Mike also revisits the helicopter and pilot that saved his life, to find out how the pilot, Ian ‘Chompers’ Fortune, managed to fly the Chinook back to Camp Bastion after having been shot in the head.
Featured Battle Machines:
SPV400 – A lightly armoured patrol vehicle.
Warrior (Recovery variant) – The tank used to rescue other, bomb-damaged tanks from the battle field.
Man SVR (8 Wheel Drive Recovery) – The heavy recovery vehicle used to bring bomb-damaged Mastiffs back to base.
MQ-9 Reaper (with Nevada control centre) – The unmanned combat vehicle operated 10,000 miles from the battlefield via satellites
